Conchalí Lake

Hi, I'm going to talk about my favourite get-away, Conchal
í
Lake, wich is located in the Androniko Luksic Abaroa Center, a few kilometers north of Los Vilos, IV Region of Coquimbo, Chile.
Here you can breathe peace, you can feel the sea breeze on your face, hear the sea and walk quietly for a place where only those you and the nature around you.
With my family used to visit this place every time we go to Los Vilos or Pichidangui (which is a bit further south), we have gone many times to visit this place, I lost count but have been more than 6 times, almost every year we're going to spend a week there, either winter or summer.
A little north of Conchalí Lake, practically next door, the Yellow Beach (the beach is to be seen in the background in the photo), this place is not enabled for bathing and income in a car is very complicated, can be reached walk from Los Vilos, but it is quite tim
e walking. It is a very quiet, few people are there, you can walk along the edge of the beach without problems and the beauty of our sea.
Many may have passed in front of the lake passing by the road route to La Serena and never have stopped to admire the beauty that this place.
The next time you travel north of the country and go through there, remember to look to your left and admire Conchalí Lake...

Hi everyone for the last time this semester… Today I’m going to talk about my experience with the blog. Write a blog was new to me; at first it was hard to write both, before I wrote only short sentences in English, a text never.
I like write about topics realize with the career, with the midwifery, as my favourite subject in the career, gender role in health care and of course my future as midwife.
The blog that we had to write a story I liked it because it allowed me tell the story of my favourite book: Pride and prejudice. But all which I liked most was the one who wrote about our future as a midwife, because I imagine attending the woman and babies in the hospital everyday. In each subject could my imagination take flight as I would as a midwife?
My typical mistake was with the times, I think, because is the most complex for my English. I learned some terms that did not know as: midwifery and midwife.
I liked the blog of my classmates, because helped me to know the topics interesting for they and know that hope for their future as midwife, career areas that interest them develop as health professional.
This activity has helped me to learn new terms, know more about subject realize with the career and generally to expand my vocabulary.
Well, until next semester will... Bye

Pride and prejudice

Hi everyone! Today I’m going to talk about my favourite book, this is “Pride and prejudice” and is the most famous of the novels of Jane Austen and of which there have been various film.
This book is acclimated in century XVIII, related the story of Elizabeth Bennet, who is the second of five daughters of Mr. Bennet, and preferred by her father for her intelligence and vivacity, qualities that made her the least dear to her mother.
Reaches the region Charles Bingley, and wealthy young bachelor who immediately put on the look all the ladies of the place, especially Mrs. Bennet, whose sole goal in life was to marry well with her five daughters before his cousin husband, Mr. Collins, to take possession of Longbourn and fortune to death of it.
Mr. Darcy is a friend of Mr. Bingley neighbour of the Bennet; they come to town and know the Bennet sisters in a dance. Mr. Bingley is interested for Jane (the older of the Bennet sisters) and she is interested for he, but Elizabeth does not like Mr. Darcy because she thought he was proud and he thinks she is not beautiful enough to merit attention. From that moment begins a love-hate relationship between. Elizabeth's charms eventually end up charming Mr Darcy, with the result that finally declare his love for her "against his own will" and expresses his desire to marry her, despite its inferior origin reprehensible and family. But Elizabeth rejected the proposal saying he is “the last man in the world they would marry”. Mr. Darcy next day had given a letter to Elizabeth explaining his reasons for saying that. Elizabeth is embarrassed at the sight of these clarifications and acknowledges that pride and prejudice had been blinded. However, Darcy regrets having rejected and only wants to see him again.
Sometime later Elizabeth goes to vacations with her cousins and meets Darcy again, and their relationship begins to improve. He realizes that her feelings have changed, which gives enough hope to try again. When Darcy proposes to her a second time, Elizabeth agrees.
This is a story very beautiful, there is much romance, I loved :)

Education and prevention in midwifery

Hi! Today I'm going to talk about education and prevention in midwifery.
The midwifery is a profession in which is very important the education in different topics of health and prevention of different pathologies.
The midwife should give to user education in everything topics of life. A woman must be educated about pregnancy, menstruation, climacteric and other topics important for development. A health topic we must deliver to pregnant user is prenatal control and the importance of continuity in these and the precautions to be taken in the development of pregnancy. A woman is not pregnant we must educate in family planning, contraceptives methods, personal hygiene, menstrual cycle, etc.
The prevention of disease is very important too, for example the prevention of sexually transmitted infection, genital infections and an unwanted pregnancy. We can prevent all these complications through education.
We can educate to user giving them talks or workshops about different important topics for prevention of disease. For example we can deliver to a group of pregnant a workshop on newborn care or nutritional care during pregnancy. We can also educate users about prevention of sexually transmitted infection through triptych, pasting
posters in clinics on how to prevent, educating door to door and other methods depending on the characteristics of people that we want to educate.
The Chilean people need education on how to eat healthy, disease related to poor nutrition and the consequences to future, especially in the case of children.

GENDER ROLE IN HEALTH CARE

Hi, today I'm going to talk about the gender role in health, which is a topic very interesting, because for many years has been discussed.
First a definition of gender roles: these are a set of roles and different expectations for women and men that make a difference on how to be, how to feel and how to act. In health care, men work with men users and women work with women users, because that is more comfortable for the user. Men to have more strength is it’s easier work with big users, for woman is more difficult work with big users why this task is performed by men especially when it comes to mobilizing.
The responsibilities should be the same, as what's the deal with the user. The exception occurs when the user must be mobilized and is very weighty and it requires great strength for realize this work. Once the doctors were mostly men, today is more equitable, midwifery in years ago was very rare to see men practicing the profession, is now more common to find a midwife man in maternity wards.
The salaries are different; men earn more money than women, this occur in different industrial area, and the health area is no exception, this depending on area where he or she work. In the area of medicine are requested men, but in area of nursing and midwifery are the most requested women.
In terms of professional development, the social area of medicine is done mostly by women, care of the sick, and the men realize the scientific work, the investigation.

My future as a midwife

Hi everyone, today I’m going to talk about my future as a midwife. First I like midwife of neonatology because the first month of life is the stage in that baby need more care. But I also like work with women in primary attention and I know every stage of their development.
I like to work in the neonatology unit for some years, and then I like to work in attention primary or clinic if given the opportunity. I don’t like to work in the same place for long time, at least the first years I like to rotate in different areas of the profession.
I like to work in public system, in a hospital, the early years for know new things, because a think in the public system can learn more in everyday, and after in the private system to have a more relaxed schedule and knowing also that area of the health system.
Schedule in the early years did not think it’s a problem, take night shifts or day, shifts different every week. But after a few years yes it would difficult because it would be incompatible with my family.
Clearly I like to be boss of a unit to assist in the organization of the hospital and deliver a better service to users. It would be nice to have colleagues with who to develop activities to improve care in the unit.
